Have you ever wondered what to do with the green parts of leaks after you have used the white parts? Here is a solution.

You will need:
– 3 chicken drumsticks
– the green part of 3 leeks
– 1-2 carrots
– 2-3 cups cooked/tinned chickpeas
– seasoning (in my case 1/2 teaspoon white pepper, 1 tablespoon basil, 1 tablespoon oregano, 1 teaspoon coarse salt but you could add bay leaf or nutmeg, too)

Place the drumsticks in a large pot. Cover with water, add the leeks and put to boil with the tap on. Cut up the carrots and add to the pot. Check 3 essays… Well, that´s what I would do – hm, how much can that take? 15-20 minutes? When the chicken and the carrots seem almost ready (just take a drumstick out and taste it), add the chickpeas and the seasoning, bring everything to the boil and wait for 3 more minutes.
